PorchBell is a small company in Melbourne, Florida, building the answering service we wished existed for the local businesses we know best.
Most small businesses lose work to a phone that rings out.
The story is the same in every trade and every salon. A new customer calls. The owner is on the truck, in the chair, or with a paying client. Voicemail picks up. The caller hangs up and taps the next listing in the search results. That job goes to whoever happened to be sitting still next to a ringing phone.
The big national answering services were built for big national companies. They quote per-minute pricing, lock you into setup fees, and serve every industry the same way. The newer voice tools were built for tech-savvy users who can wire up an integration. Neither was built for the plumber, the stylist, or the dog groomer two blocks over.
So we built PorchBell. A 24/7 voice receptionist with a real persona, real booking logic for real service businesses, and a flat monthly price you can read off the sign on a truck. It is live in Brevard County today and rolling out across the rest of Florida and the Southeast through the rest of the year.

Mae is our voice receptionist. She is warm without being saccharine, fast without sounding rushed, and trained on your services, your hours, and your rules. She auto-detects English and Spanish on every call, so your bilingual customers never get bounced to a menu.
She is not a fill-in for a human. She is what answers the phone the other 16 hours a day, on every weekend and holiday, and any time you are on the truck or in a session. When she cannot help, she transfers to you or takes a callback. She does not make things up.
